Dr. Stephen Floersheimer (1925-2011) has been an ardent supporter of Israel for many years. His interests in the country range from politics and banking to the arts and culture. Dr. Floersheimer, created the Floersheimer Institute in order to research politically charged issues from a neutral viewpoint, hoping thereby to provide reasoned, well researched, facts so appropriate decisions about future policy can be decided. Often critical of entrenched ideas, his goal has been to tackle some of the difficult issues Israel faces such as society, space and governance, Arabs and Jews in Israel, and relations between religion, society and state. Since 2007, the Foundation has been in the good hands of Hebrew University and its dedicated staff.
